My cousin is a hell of a guy - he and my dad were first cousins and spent a lot of time together growing up. My dad was about 5 years older than him. Dad passed away in 2012, but we stay in contact and go out for lunch or dinner twice a year or so when he is in town. This watch is about 5 years older than I am. I tried to convey to my wife after lunch the generosity - "so if your dad had given me his 2008 mustang convertible instead of trading it in 3 years ago, that would be about the same".

Now I just need to save up so I can afford to send this one, and my Speedy serviced in 2016 back to @Archer! We just had a third kiddo (who is now 4.5 months old) so it may be a bit before I can send it off, but it will be treated properly.

In a weak moment 6 months ago, I once offered one of my Omegas to a friend. Actually offered him the one in my avatar. He thanked me but said no thanks ..... close call for me. Won't do that again ever. Who the hell would say no thanks lol

What a nice gesture. Based on the story you’re telling, your cousin may consider you a bit like a surrogate son. As he says, it’s only a watch— the rest is the important part.
