First, congrats on the beautiful new watch. Good choice on the bracelet. Too bad it's not more comfortable for you.

I will need to bookmark this thread and return to it anytime I feel like I'm flipping watches too quickly. I'm still nowhere near Z and his "100 in 2 years". OMG. LOL

I actually also bought the Nato that goes with it. It's still in its wrapper. I figured I would want the set long-term.

Same, and I actually bought mine in Montreal 😉 Love the watch, like @zkramez , the warm tones on the dial, lume and brushed titanium caught my eye. Pictures didn't really do anything for me but then saw it in person.

I also find the clasp on the bracelet a bit bulky, but the bracelet itself is great. I also haven't had the reflection issues like some have mentioned, perhaps I've been lucky so far.

Congrats to the OP on the beautiful addition.

Is this the best Omega you can buy right now or is it a gimmick?

Small background on myself, I have flipped over 100 Omega watches in the last 2 years. The majority being Seamasters, Speedmasters, and Planet oceans. From brand new in box all the way to a 1957 Seamaster and everything between. I am an omega fanatic.

I walked into the boutique Saturday finally ready to purchase a watch for myself that I would never flip. I always wanted a Speedmaster for myself. It is my all time favorite watch and I've flipped a bunch of Daytona's. Not for me. By pure luck the boutique had a Bond edition seamaster and I quickly jumped on it. I am a huge bond fan and a big seamaster fan. I didn't go with the speedy like I intended because I know for my wedding coming up I will have the opportunity to get another forever watch. This bond watch was something special. Every time I go to visit Andrew at the boutique I asked about this watch. They always had 1 in stock but NEVER on bracelet only on the NATO. If I was to buy this watch it has to be the bracelet just like Bond.

Well. I was doing black Friday shopping and they had one on display on bracelet. I quickly scooped it up before someone else could. I could not be happier if I tried!

On to the review...

Bracelet
Ill start with the bracelet since it was a must for me. I actually don't like it. The clasp is too big and makes it site funny on my wrist. I do love the look of it though so I am keeping it. It looks too good for me to care. Sometimes hair gets pinched as well. I'm am okay with that as in my experience most bracelets do that.

Style
This watch emulates a vintage / patina style watch. I personally love the vintage look. I know some people are upset that they emulated patina however it doesn't bother me at all. I am a big fan. I think of it more as a milk chocolate color rather than emulated patina.

The loom on the bezel is striking and much needed as the regular version of the watch doesn't have it. It is also thinner than the regular seamaster with a cool domed sapphire glass. I LOVE IT. It reminds me of hesalite on a speedy.

Final thoughts
The watch is very light due to it being titanium and wears great with long sleeves. Much better than the regular speedmaster. Do I think it is worth double the price tag? No I do not. Did I care? No I did not! The watch is too beautiful.

I do wish that it was not Bond inspired. People that do not like Bond are turned away from the watch. I love Bond and Daniel Craig but the Seamaster should have just been like this all along. It truly does compete with its rival the Rolex Submariner. The fact that it is the same price and I can say it goes head to head is unbelievable. The only difference is I can get a bond watch. I cant get a sub.

An awesome watch, congratulations ! I recently got mine with both the bracelet and NATO. My last watch purchase was in 2008 with the Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Tribute to Polaris 1968 so some 14 years ago… that’s a long time but I did not see anything I wanted before the NTTD…

Given your tendency to flip watches, I'm curious as to how you feel about this watch some 7+ months later. Still love it or flip it?

It is my favorite watch. I wear it almost everyday still. I flip almost everything I buy but this will be with me forever. I purposely bought it brand new at the AD so I couldn't sell it. I NEVER EVER do that. That is how much I love this watch.

Don’t like Bond - still got the watch. Love titanium. Wish it was hesalite. Domed sapphire is silly, IMO. Plus, it would have better suited the vintage theme.

The branding is subtle enough to look past it.

Thanks for the update, good to know you still love it! 👍
I'm edging ever so close to pulling the trigger on one myself. This would be a very expensive purchase for me, so I've been taking my time to make sure it's the "one".

Agreed! I just got the IWC Mercedes’ watch. I hate Mercedes’ but the color is too good to pass on. I get it!

I love pretty much everything about the watch and really want to make it work for me, but I struggle with naked-eye legibility of the skeletonized hands. Unfortunately I don't think this will be a keeper for me. Shame, as the bracelet, materials, weights, colors, dial without waves, etc. are all outstanding.

Oh I have it. I’ll just likely sell it soon. It’s gorgeous and wears extremely well. It’s just the dial and hand combination doesn’t work now that I need readers.

Outdoors it’s usually fine but in lower light conditions it’s not easy to quickly pick up the hands. I need a white hand/black dial pairing so I’m looking elsewhere for an outdoors/Tavel/beach to dinner watch.

Gotcha! Try an IWC. Big and easy to read

Yeah, I’ve got a Portugieser with the blue hands and matching blue alligator strap that I really enjoy.

For something a bit more waterproof I’m likely going to wait out a Submariner no date. But keeping my eyes out out for alternatives.

I just wish my eyes were better. I really want to love this watch. I just should have actually looked more closely at the boutique before I admired it online and ordered it from Omegas site directly.
