So after hawking all auctions and websites for a while, this beauty (105.012-65) came up here on the forum. Thanks again to @Drawarms for a very pleasant transaction. I finally wore it this weekend and absolutely love it! I'm amazed at how watches this old can still be in such good shape. The design is truly timeless, looks so nice. I ordered two straps that should be arriving this week. A camel suede from Bandrbands, and a vintage rally strap from Heuertime. (Stock pictures) There are a few things I'm still looking for though: - a period correct flat feet crown. - two 16mm Omega deployant clasps - advice: does a cal 321 require service if the "hacking" option by turning the hands back doesn't work? Here she is!
No wrist shot!? Regarding hacking, that's not really a feature of the movement. You don't need it accurate to the second, do you?
I'll post more pics when the new straps are here! Speaking of which, does anyone happen to have two 16mm Omega deployant clasps they don't need anymore? As for the hacking feature, it kind of bothers me to not be able to set it to the second
Hello, Nice one, congrats. If you hold the crown and turn it couterclokwise slightly you should 'hold" the seconds hand. just release it when your good.
This is with the crown pulled out, correct? I tried this to no avail, then read that this may have to do with the cannon pinion being a bit too loose. Explanation by Archer here
Yes, in the setting hour position of course. If your cannon pinion is too lose, it may not work. A sign of this is that your hands set too smoothly
New straps have arrived! Had a hard time choosing between the two, but went with the suede one in the end. Not sure if I want to buy an additional deployant clasp for the second strap, what do you guys do? Have a clasp for each strap you wear often, or switch it each time? Correct crown in on the way too, after that it might go to Simon Freese for some basic service. Cheers!
