I present my Apollo 11 45, a watch that I'm in love with, I have it never used, it's like a work of art, although I'm from Spain I was lucky to find it in Germany. For me, it is one of the best limited limited editions, different materials, very spatial design, etc.
I really like how they raised the dial elements with this one. Sorta like a reverse sandwich dial (instead of being sunken in, not truly a reverse sandwich). Remember to show it proper wrist time
This is so different from the other limited editions. The titanium and Sedna gold work together as a great combination. I find the dial a bit odd but it is growing on me...
You have to see this in the flesh... That dial is never the same colour, its always changing on different light! I personally love this variant of Apollo 11 LE's.
Great photos @rafabond ...it does indeed look a bit like a NASA museum piece in the box Mine says hello! I LOVE this watch. Very much a unique Speedy LE...true chameleon dial from golden brown to grey... in direct sunlight the dial is stunning...love the way the dial writing, logo and minute counters suddenly reveal themselves depending on the lighting angle... Here next to my ST you can see how different it looks...I think Mr. "Joe Public" might easily be led to believe that these two LEs are completely different watches...
I’ve talked to a few people lately about how this is a model that is really gaining an appreciation. I myself was thinking of tracking one down recently, but a few other things came up. I think this is definitely destined to be a very collectible LE. The dial is incredible, and as was already mentioned, the titanium case with Sedna highlight is great as well.
Awesome watch. Have you considered paying the autograph fees for Apollo 11 Moonwalker Buzz Aldrin and CMP Mike Collins to sign the watch box. They do private signings with a company in America called Novaspace.com. Worth spending the money to have them sign the watch box. You would mail your box in when they have the signings. Check the website Novaspace.com for their fees and schedule. I have several limited edition watch boxes signed by the astronauts for their particular mission that corresponds to that watch. Novapsace.com also does a public event called Spacefest which is a huge astronaut convention that is in Tucson Arizona. Some of these watches with their watch boxes signed by the astronauts can double to triple in value depending on who signed the box, what the watch was, if the astronaut is still alive, etc..... Wear your watch with Omega pride.
I just had the opportunity for one of these below MSRP in mint condition and didn't take it. Part of the reason for that is finding the right strap for it.
Used to put mine on alligator. But now back to NATO as I'm starting to find the NATO to be very unique.
At first I couldn’t stand this watch, then Omega explained the reason they chose the colors they did and instantly I got it. It’s my favorite Omega LE now
I just received mine by FedEx tonight, and it was worth the long search for a pristine example. It IS even better looking in person. The way the light reflects off the print and numerals makes them look like they are flashing. Beautiful. My wrist is a bit small for the bulky strap, so I am now searching for a Ti bracelet. Cant wait to take pictures during the daytime.
I think you can create a custom strap from Camille Fournet on their website. Since it'd be a strap and not a NATO it wouldn't be as bulky. Anyway, congratulations and enjoy!
