    Hi everyone.
I'm new to this so please bare with me! Family tradition is that we get a watch for our 30th and usually an omega. Please don't slag me on my first post but I really like the jaeger lecoultre master ultra thin but I'm very active, always outdoors and don't wear a suit every day so a proper dress watch will need to wait until I'm running the world. I want something I can wear every day and the watch I have always loved is the speedmaster professional and more recently the moon watch. I really need your help buying the correct one. I wear a gold wedding ring so I'd love something with a subtle bit of gold in it, I love a black face and brown leather strap too.
Can you guys point me in the right direction in terms of the best movement, most collectable pieces and best investment for a budget of around £4.500 to suit my criteria. Also I understand it's down to personal preference but I love the idea of owning something with a bit of history. should I buy pre used/original or a modern model. Can you tell me the most reliable source for pre used speedy's so I can get the ball rolling.

    Cheers

    Cameron

I love that Apollo 15... its high on my WTB list.

Another good option with gold hints is the Apollo XI 45th Anniversary Speedmaster:

I'm of the same mind as @repoman

This looks to tick all your boxes: [IMG]

45th anniversary Speedmaster. History tied to the moonwatch. Gold in the watch to match your wedding ring. Brown strap. Classic workhorse of a movement. We have a good number of trustworthy sellers here in the forums which you could contact to check availability.

    Cheers and happy hunting!

Not gold, but you could always do what ulackfocus does and get a wedding band to match the steel. :)

...and if gold is mandatory, well, there's always the Sedna gold version...

I've seen the rose gold & chocolate Speedmasters at the Ω Boutique in Florida. I'd certainly wear one..... and that's saying more than the OP can imagine.

A lot of nice suggestions, but remember the OP's price parameters,

Notice you mention 'best investment' in your opening post. At your budget level I can't see how you can expect to acquire something with certain potential to maintain, let alone increase, value. As is frequently said here, wisely, you should buy what you like for aesthetic and emotive reasons of your own. That way you tend to get sustained pleasure from your purchase which would be undermined by any fretting about whether or not it's depreciating faster than expected!

    that budget....

2 year old speedy pro, which already has the new watch depreciation hit.
Gold Orient Bambino one of many varients.
New Sieko Prospex turtle with gold highlight.

Presto a good Affordable dress watch , an everyday beater/active dive watch, and a speedy pro. What else do you need?

Not my pictures, and do I need to post a Speedy pro?

That is a beautiful piece. What size is the watch and what exactly is the movement? I have had someone contact me already. How can I be sure they are trustworthy?

This is a fair point and exactly what I need to be hearing to make the selection process clearer. Thanks. £4.500 is a lot of money to me but I guess it's not a great deal in the watch game.
