I’ve had a pretty good 2018 and was able to reward myself with a few special watches. I really enjoyed the hobby this year. In January, I picked up this Ed White (ref. 105.003-64). It’s a bit rough, but the piece has the wabi sabi character of a watch that has been used and enjoyed for decades. In May, I tracked down a LNIB Planet Ocean Liquidmetal LE. I adored this watch since its debut, and a new career milestone this Summer was the right occasion to commemorate with the PO. I was surprised and delighted by the announcement of the Speedy Tuesday Ultraman. I was up early enough to hit the website while watches were still available. Unfortunately, I ran into repeated technical issues and failed to secure an allocation before they were all taken. I joined the waiting list, but didn’t expect much after previously joining the list for the original Speedy Tuesday. I never heard from Omega, so had to pick up the Ultraman from the secondary market. I found this one in September. This was easily my favorite watch of the year. Omega just got it so right. I love the details - applied logo, step dial, neo DON bezel, and even the fauxtina. Such a beauty! Finally, I spoiled myself with a white dial Zenith Daytona in November after a few tough but very satisfying months in a new job. I’m going to be working hard in 2019 to make another great year. I won’t forget to have fun, though.
My first Omega this year and for sure not the last one. Made a good deal with the local Omega dealer minus 20% It runs ultra precise so far +0.5 sec a day Very happy.
Enjoying my first Omega ever, purchased new in November, the Speedmaster Mark II. Hopefully the first of many Omegas.
Nice mix of watcjes there. I made the mistake of trying a colleagues PO liquidmetal on a few moths back. Thinking just another PO
Ending the very first day of 2019 with my favorite Omega pickup from 2018: a NOS Seamaster 300 GMT ref. 2535.
