Hi guys, We probably all agree that Longines makes some of the most beautiful watches. I can't seem to put my finger on it, but many of their vintage designs are simply timeless. With my recent interest in vintage watches (and limited budget) I decided to look for a time only piece. And here is my new (ish) acquisition - a Longines Grand Prize Admiral Automatic. Some basic info: - Calibre 343 - Original movement, dial, hands, and crown - 34.5mm w/o crown, 36.5 mm w/ crown - 1965 What do you think? Any thoughts on it's market value? Thanks
Have a non date version with a sub-dial The 12 marker has always struck me as funky cool, but your 6 and 9
Like all of you I'm in love with the hour markers. Not just the 6/9/12 (these are way too cool) but also the relatively unique coffin style markers on the others. And finally a wrist shot:
Everything just fits together so well with all the design elements. I like that at a distance, the 6,9,12 markers kind of look like bigger hour markers as opposed to numerals.
Saw that one as well. Didn't the Grand Prize and Admiral ranges have a lot of overlap with dials and movements?
They did. To my knowledge, both were available in solid 14K gold, gold filled, and stainless steel cases and typically housed 34x/35x calibers.
Thought I'd put my input in here! @slique12 that piece you now own is a work of art. I love that, absolutely love it. Well done!
