I’m offered Must de Cartier with original condition dial, hands, strap and pin buckle at $400. Watch model number is 590005 that is silver case with gold plating. My query is whether it’s worth this price or not. Please help.
That one has been rode hard and put away wet! Badly deteriorated gold plating. Quartz. too much money. What more needs to be said?
Junk. I would consider elady01 on Ebay. Large Japanese reseller of authentic goods. They usually have a selection of these 1980s/90s quartz tanks. I have bought 2 watches with them and had a great experience. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_so...sasl=elady01&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=200&_fosrp=1Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
These gold plated silver cases can't be improved if the plate is dinged or worn. They look terrible in such a condition. I would put that at $100-200 tops.
Yep, that price is about right. These were essentially fashion watches, no real collectibility factor. This one was worn well but it has deteriorated past the point of attractiveness. Hard pass.
Thank you all for helping me indeed. Yes I also feel it’s more worn out than one should expect at this price point. Regards
Okay. What should I do with this offer? Should I give my offer, say $150, or it’s not good enough to buy at all. Please advise. Regards
Listen to the crowd, I did and got to tell you, it kept me from making a mistake purchase myself. And I know, You get all excited, finally something awesome is about to happen to You, until you realize, that the piece is too beat up, that servicing the watch will cost more that the watch itself is worth, etc. You’ll find a better example for a few hundred more, just be patient
Tell the seller that you’ll take off his hands if he will send you $150.00 WITH the watch (such as it is). Stick to your guns! If you want a Must Tank, pay what you have to, to get a good one.
Okay okay. Project abandoned. Topic considered closed. Thank you all for saving my money that was about to go on impulse. Thanks again.
