I have this watch that belonged to my dad. And I cant find one like it online anywhere. Id really like to find out everything I can about it including how much its worth. Nothing comes up when I tried searching for it on the vintage omega site. Also, there are a few things engraved inside the back that Im interested to know what they mean as far as work done or whatever. Hopefully you can see it well enough in the photos. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time and help.
Hi I am not an expert on Omega tuning forks. I know much more about Accutrons. Here is a link that will get you started: http://electric-watches.co.uk/makers/omega/omega-f300-tuning-fork/omega-f300-case-numbers-and-dates/
All the numbers scratched in the back will probably mean nothing, except to the person who scratched them. I don't think there is any "standardized" watchmakers code. I wish there were, then I would know a lot more about the history of my old pocket watches.
These can be annoying to get serviced as the parts are in shortage and many watchmakers just don't want to work on them at all. Given the family history I'd get it serviced and enjoy it, nice heirloom piece.
If you're in Europe then @Tom Dick would know of a service centre. If in North America then it's likely @Archer could recommend someone. You can get a lot of information from the link above. I have one of these tuning forks, very recently acquired so time for a gratuitous wrist shot. Regards, Chris
