Ex-Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak may be going to die in prison (and it could be sooner rather than later given his health problems) but at least this known watch nerd is keeping up his standards, pictured here in prison wearing a Blancpain Fifty-Fathoms Blue Limited Edition:
BTW, for those interested, this is an 18K White Gold piece, limited edition of 50 units, with an MSRP of $37,500
Well, the pillow looks fluffy and bright white, he's dressing casually cool, and the temperature in the cell must be nice and comfortable as he is wearing a light jacket. I’m sure the stay package includes all meals, plus a few cups of tea throughout the day.... and he gets to keep his watch!
Just realized this thread has had nearly a thousand views, been retweeted in Arabic on twitter many times, and been mentioned on some Egyptian sites so to anyone in Egypt that has suffered or has had friends and family suffer under Hosni Mubarak's rule, you have our deepest sympathy, and I was only pointing this out due to an interest in rare and unique watches (which this limited edition Blancpain counts as given its production of 50 and cost of $37,500). Really this Blancpain deserves to be taken off him and auctioned off for the benefit of the families of the victims, along with the many other Patek, Breguet, Vacheron Constantin and other pieces he's been photographed wearing.
Further to Hosni's watch collection: Hublot Big Bang Evolution, Rose Gold on leather. Notice the carbon fibre bezel, and the black strip through the center of the rose gold case. Retail Price: $24,900

I don't know but the news report does give the name of the hospital... perhaps if we track down their phone number an arrangement could be made on commission
