Like many, I'm my own barrista
I actually like the Barista Express but that grinder is a real let down - how do you get on with it?

I've had no issues with it whatsoever. I find it does a great job...Of course, some grinders cost more than this whole machine but it grinds as I expected. I still have a very nice Saeco grinder as backup
What is wrong with yours?

It's not that anything's really wrong but that it could be better. To grind for espresso, it has to be set at either "1" or "fine". I've had this discussion before and come to the conclusion that, because the top burr is set only by the position of the plastic moulding, no two of these grinders are calibrated the same. You can get really good ones and really bad ones. Mine seems to be in the middle and "OK". Where it really shows it's shortcomings is when you find a bean that needs to be ground between those two positions or even finer. It's not the end of the world, though as I also have a Rocky that's plenty capable of grinding in that range.

When I have time!

But if I'm in a rush (everyday thats not the weekend)

We have both of those types of coffee thingamajigs also. The squish-it-downer thingy makes a much better tasting cup of coffee than the latch-in-the-plastic-cup jobber.

Interesting...I have to set mine between 4 and 6 or the coffee is too fine and the pump will not push the water through the holder. I have a super coffee roaster near my home and I can say that I'm able to achieve "Little Italy espresso bar" quality espresso with this machine..

I threw the latch-in-the-plastic-cup jobber out last year and got this puppy. I honestly think that it was money well spent and enjoy it every morning cause the coffee tastes 100X's better than pod coffee!

Mrs. noelekal and I drink coffee later in the day but tea is more to the point first thing in the morning.

Even better when wearing a Smith's watch as I am today.

Our masters team road race captain (and coach) only allows me to have one Dunkin' Donuts 'donut' per year.

He claims that they're not good for you.

Baa humbug.
