It seems there are a few people on here who are as addicted to the black life giving liquid as I am, so let's see what you're brewing. I'll kick us off, seeing as it's Sunday, with a long and lazy monsooned malabar brewed in a syphon:
That looks like a lot of time and effort. I stick a Starbucks French Roast K-Cup in the Keurig and have a hot cup of coffee in 2 minutes
Looks nice. But I'll stick to my Nespresso. Throw a capsule in, hit the button and you are good to go Cheers Thomas P.S. Although I really appreciate a good & strong espresso coming out of a decent espresso machine.
It's no dirtier than nespresso.... I also have good coffee, for weekend mornings, that gets fresh ground and goes in the Cafetière. But for the standard weekday 6:30 wake up... this. With a teaspoon of honey. The tea until noon (Yorkshire), and then fruit teas... because I'm well manly. Innit.
This all looks like amateur stuff. I can tell because none of the posts so far are near-incoherent ramblings. Let's get The Man in here to show us REAL serious tar: @FullyWound - how about some professional advice?
For all of you wondering about how much time and work goes into that ... yeah, it's a bit much for a weekday rush which is why it tends to come out on a Sunday morning. I've three coffee grinders, so grinding the beans takes around 30 seconds; the real time is waiting for the water to reach temperature/pressure but the whole thing takes around 8 minutes. While waiting, I loaded up the laundry (and took a few photos). On a weekday morning, I usually make a Chemex brew which is a real ritual and takes about 6 minutes from start to finish but gives, to my tastes, the best coffee you can get. If I'm really rushed or fancy something different then I can knock up a capp in 90 seconds.
As a former manager of mine used to say: "You drink coffee to poop. No matter how good the coffee, the end result is the same." He's the only person I've seen take a newspaper into the toilet in an office...
@Mad Dog another signature awesome post The guy in the background on frame #3....his WTF expression as you reach max. alt...LOL
I think you might still find him breathing into a paper bag ... the whole en-ah-tee-oh thingy really worked him up ....
