Bought this yesterday, picked it up today, quite like it but don't know a lot about Mondias. Even though its a bit scratched up glass wise I am certain that will be an easy polish. The movement is an AS 1700 and looks like new despite several watch makers marks inside, so it's obviously seen some love in it's time. Unlike the many vintage watches I have bought this last 12 months (last count more than 100) this one is working perfectly, what a financial relief as a basic full service will hopefully be all the work it needs other than the lens polish. If you look past the scratches the dial has a wonderful lustre that the lens polish will just transform the work worn diamond in the rough. View attachment 1075037
Well it all started when I was a bit bored sitting in my apartment in China (winter and minus 30 Celsius outside). I have always been a bit of a watch collector but only on a minor scale but boredom got the better of me so getting online was most of the entertainment, the rest is history and now whilst the bank account is definitely lighter the long term investment is hopefully growing.
Just totalled up this weeks watch purchases 17 though to be fair only 9 of those are truly vintage and mechanical (1975 or earlier) the others range from 1980 to mid 2000's.
