Here we have a rather nice example of a 60’s/70’s diver. I don’t know an awful lot about it, just I bought it because it looks cool. After I bought it I had it serviced by Simon Freese, 19/9/22, who relumed the bezel pip but basically just serviced the movement as the dial is beautiful. The crown screws down and as you would expect it runs perfectly. There are some light scratches on the crystal and marks on the case, commensurate with the age of the watch. I’m looking to get my money back on this and looking online the others I see are asking more for unserviced watches. Postage and shipping in the UK is £8 fully tracked and signed for. The rest of the world can be discussed. Thanks for looking.
I have a couple Mondaine’s- these are well made skin divers using quality parts. I see unserviced Belair Seapearls (which resemble this) going for more. With the Simon Freese service this is a bargain.
I guess this shows that the watch market is really in the doldrums. The service alone on this was over £300 and it won’t sell at my asking price. Maybe time to put it back in the watch box.
