    Hi all
I am new in the forum and like to say hello to all of you. I am looking forward to nice conversations and chats and was thinking to start of with a request. Please post your moments in life with your speedmaster, maybe you have some wedding memories, did you wear your Omega for some special events in your life or did you just have a lovely memory with your Speedy ?
I like to show my Speedy I got after my Son was born. What a moment in life.

What a moment, indeed! My speedy arrived post the arrival of my children, so it has had to do with moments a step down from those, other family moments, significant transactions, marking the Moon landing...

I wore mine the day my daughter was born.
It was a gift from my wife for my 30th birthday which was just shy of one month before she was born so it was sort of a combo present.

Didn’t have an Omega of any description when we were married in 1966. I remember the day Apollo XI landed on the moon as I was fishing, and listened on the radio. Again, I didn’t own an Omega of any description. When our son was born in 1971, I still didn’t own an Omega. When he was christened in 1972, I still didn’t own an Omega. Fast forward to 2019, and I own about a dozen Omegas, but all those landmark events in my past have passed me by. Still occasionally wear a watch I was wearing for all those events, and love it. But it isn’t an Omega. Sorry!

Good story. Thanks for sharing. Can I ask which watch you did have on your arm for all the milestones you mentioned ? I am almost the same. I only could effort a Miyota powered fake rose gold watch for my wedding, but I still love this watch and will not sell it. Sometimes the memories are more worth than the watch

My “pre Speedmaster” special occasion watch. My one owner (me) 1964 Bulova Accutron 214. This is a recent picture, so it has survived the test of time. It was on my wrist on all the aforementioned occasions. On my wrist when caught in a rainstorm while we were n a lineup waiting to get into the Czech Pavilion at Montreal Expo 1967, and on my wrist at our 50th wedding anniversary in 2016. Matter of fact, I might just go and put it on right now. Stepping out tonite for a fiddle gig.

Two years ago my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer (SPOILER: She's currently hale, hearty and doing exceptionally well) Her treatments were at Duke Medical Center in Durham, NC. On the freeway, just ahead of the Duke exit was a billboard for an Omega jeweler that prominently featured a photo of a DSOM watch some 40 feet in size. We'd pass that thing two, three, four times a week. After awhile I mentioned "That's a pretty nice watch". She agreed. Months went by, the treatments were incredibly successful, and at some point one of us mentioned if we get through this, maybe we owe ourselves a little treat.

She opted for something in the sparkly variety (a nice set of earrings) and I, after our return to Portland, paid a visit to the local Omega AD for a classic Hexalite Speedmaster Professional. Each time I look at the watch I'm reminded how lucky we both are. Wear it in good health is more than a simple phrase around our house.

Thanks for sharing this story. I am glad to hear your wife is better and wish you all the best for the future. Amazing story which really touched me. Its crazy how watches can be part of all this milestones, events, hurtles in live, always telling us the right time and that our life is moving on with every second the watch ticks.
