Just thought the hive would find these interesting/funny/horrifying.

These came off a 1039 and while I didn’t get pictures of the endlinks beforehand I was told they had been altered and were not usable. So no problem with expectations as a buyer, they were completely as described.

But WOW! I keep debating if they were altered for use as a straight endlink, or to use as small shanks for self defense? Sharp and pointy little suckers, I think they would have been the slowest most painful suicide method ever if left on the wrist. (And yes, they used to be 516s)

Anyone have a similar horrible waste of hard to find parts to share? Paper clips and minty-fresh gum use permitted, exploring alternative theories and rational for modifications is also encouraged.

Not exactly what you’ve asked for, but a close cousin, to be sure. How the heck did this happen? Maybe after the first gouge there was a tip-off to quit?
