Modern rubber on 2254.50

Hi OF fellowes,

I'm into the market for a rubber strap for my Peter Blake.
From what i've been told by OB, Omega doesn't / does no longer carry a tang buckle rubber strap for 2254.50.
On the other hand, i saw a post on another forum from someone who uses modern 032CVZ010126 rubber strap on his Peter Blake and he claims it fits well.

Did anyone try this combination ?

I can confirm this works. I purchased 20MM curved spring bars to make it easier.

Be careful. I tried the current gen 4 SMP strap on a Gen 3 model and it doesn’t work. The lug holes are in different places. It seems from above you can persuade it to fit the gen 1 case (ie Bond or Blake) but I doubt it’s a great fit which is presumably why the curved bars were needed. The current watch has a noticeably deeper and slightly wider case so the strap shouldn’t have the right depth and profile really. Not to mention that at £300 it’s ridiculously expensive.

Thanks, and it looks great

I note this point. I also don't want the spring bar to pop up unexcpectidly ...
For second bold sentence, spending several K in a wathc is also in a way redicoulusly expensive 😁

I can recommend Zealande. I just bought one for my 2500 PO with the deployant buckle and love it. It's not AS expensive as the Omega and is more comfortable than my old Rubber B was.

Yes i saw this one earlier but the OEM is growing on me. Some say Zealande is as good as the OEM, some say it's not.
But it's a good alternative i must confess and i might need to reconsider it to save €€ and buy a second one (green) for my green SMP.

Not cheap, says they specifically fit the 2254.50 (and the others).

Thanks for the suggestion, but too close from OEM price IMHO

Does it have to fit the case/fill the gap between the lugs like that OEM? If not the Hirsch accent is my favorite on my seamaster pro

Yes i want something that looks like it was made for this watch
Actually OB said they did have a strap made for 2254.50, but it's the deployant clasp model and you need to spend another € 300.00 for the clasp

My only real issue with the configuration is that since this strap is made for the bigger/heavier current version, the weight of the strap to watch feels a little off. Minor gripe though

I think this Citizen strap looks cool on the 2254.

This Hirsch gutaperka strap looks a bit less toolie.

Just if you wanted more options.

While i agree that the price is terribly high and the fit is not ideal. The modern SMP strap looks so freaking hot on the 2254, that i would buy it again if i had to. its allmost like it was designed for this watch. no other straps i tried in the past come even close. 😀

Not the look i look for. OEM style is what i tend to go for.

This. Price is forgotten after a few days/weeks/months...
I just can't figure the difference in term of fit between Zealande and Omega.

Zealande straps are pretty comfortable, and fit well on the Seamaster. Their prices has just gotten too close to OEM to justify in my opinion.
