Hello GS fans,

44GS case design on the modern GS's have been quite popular and there has been quite a number of new releases based on it. Although not a fan (too big for my skinny hands) they are beautifully built. However i don't really get the connection to the original 44GS as they really don't look the same.GS themselves re-issued that watch with the SBGW047. The only connection i can see is with the last iteration of that model 4420-9990 which ironically is regarded by many as the least "Taro Tanaka" ish of the line-up. The association and celebration seems a bit strange to me. Thoughts?

I don't really follow modern watches but I do collect vintage GS, would you consider posting photos illustrating what you are referring to? I do agree that the 4420-9990 is really not a typical "grammar of design" piece.

having recently fallen down the 45KS rabbit hole i think this new one looks more like a 45KS than a 44GS with the way the lugs go.

Kinda makes me want one... that new one with the frost dial is stunning too and with 36000 vph movement...

I definately have my eye on the sbgy011 and am waiting to see one when they start to hit the display cases.
The other day I was also eyeing off a sbga375 that looked quite stunning.

I think one of these beauties is coming into the collection.
