Hello guys..

Need some opinons on this Connie..

Got her last weekend from Germany.
Looks fantastic condition, but would be great if Connie experts can confirm is it all (French) original..

Automatic 505 inside, no model # on caseback, very high medallon and stars, serial 1542xxxx ..

I'm not expert and everything looks fine to me but need to be sure.. appreciate any help and opinons.

Thanks in advance
Denis

I'm not familiar with French cases but ref 2648 should only come with a caliber 352 or 354 movement so the 505 is definitely not correct.

The crown is also not original. It should be a.decagon crown.

This watch feels wrong to me.

The problem with locally-cased watches is that (esp in the UK) the cases were sometimes produced long after the Swiss versions were no longer in production because they were in demand in that country - plus they have been known to have differing crowns to suit the home audience.
So that could explain why a movt which originates from circa '57 ends up in an earlier ref watch case.

The dial is more of a conundrum.
The crossed Ts dial could have been hanging around for a while - but sharp, head-on pics of the dial would help to assess authenticity.

At first glance, the dial appears to be repainted, but you should wait to hear from the Constellation experts.

There are few examples here on OF with later cal.505 inside
