Hello, I need your help for a watch that's far beyond my actual level of competence in vintage watches, it's a golden 12494 F.A.B.... What do you think about the watch in general? Is it correct? What about the dial? The owner is 84 y.o. and says he has this watch since the last 43 years. Please let me know your opinions, I'm here to learn. Thnks!
Screams redial to me. A number of similarities with the one discussed here https://omegaforums.net/threads/universal-geneve-compax-fab-brazilian-air-force-engraving.87544/ Is that logo printed inside a shield cartouche ever legit?
Very poor redial. Lume is cheap and very poor. Hands have lost their Lume. Movement is not something to write home about, it looks a little shabby and likely to have undergone some sort of restoration on the cheap. Gold case is probably worth something but really a parts or project watch. Not much more to say.
Is the case back gold? It almost looks stainless vs the lugs at the top of the pic. Probably lighting.
The print is inconsistent and poorly registered. Then there are the lumeless hands and the sloppy lume on the dial.
So, in this case I will not take this watch in consideration any further. Also the price they ask is not low.
