I'm hoping to get a second set of eyes on my midsize Seamaster Professional 300m, reference 2222.80.00, from people who know this family better than I do.
Backstory: I bought it through Chrono24 rather than from a dealer I know personally. The seller said it had been fully serviced at Bucherer in December 2024, and he sent me a screenshot of his email exchange with Bucherer to back that up. What he never sent was the actual service paperwork or invoice, so I'm working off a screenshot rather than documentation. It arrived looking right to me and it's been running really well ever since, keeping excellent time with no issues at all. That said, I'm not experienced enough with this reference to spot a swapped dial, a redial, or a replacement bezel insert. Or if it’s a super clone.
For what it’s worth, I’ve done what checking I can on my end. The markers on this reference should be applied rather than printed, and mine are. The Omega logo doesn’t have the “happy feet” splay you see on a lot of counterfeits. The tick markers are correctly bold at the hour positions. I also shot slow motion video of the seconds hand and counted 7 ticks per second, which lines up with the 25,200 vph of the co axial movement in this reference. Everything I know how to look for checks out, but I’m sure there’s plenty I don’t know to look for.
Details: serial 85749207 (number on lug). No box or papers.
Photos attached of the dial, handset, caseback, crown, clasp, and endlinks. I'm happy to shoot macros of any specific area, or get a movement photo if that's what it takes. If something looks off, please tell me directly. I'd much rather hear it now than find out later.
