I agree with the views above. Just to play a devil’s advocate, it may be argued that a member primarily posting in the for sale thread (but not contributing much in discussions) - is in fact contributing to the Omega Forums. Simply by providing timepieces to OF in which members may find interest in.
Cheers

I agree with that, but I'll add that a big part of buying a watch for me is trusting the seller.
And, users with a long history here on the OF raises my comfort level in buying from them.

For example, as a buyer, I'm trusting the person will send me the watch after I send them the payment for it.
And, I'm trusting it is the same watch pictured and described in their ad.
And, that they've priced it at a reasonable level for it's condition.

Obviously, it is a "buyer beware" kind of situation but some of the higher risks are mitigated by the seller's history on the forum.

I'm more concerned about sellers who don't know what 1 listing or bump per 24 hour period means.

Wow I can't believe no one is buying in to this beauty.

Especially with the patina it has. GLWS.

I have a fantastic hobby that uses math, physics, craftsmanship and art to measure the abstract concept of time.

Well said.

On a separate note i find it frustrating how some sellers (one Rolex dealer in particular) simply reposts their thread in full rather than bumping it.

This means when I search for a a model/reference in the sales section, I get pages and pages from @SohAIS which are simply duplicate posts, repeated ad nauseam. Then every couple of pages if I'm lucky I'll come across new content.

I go through that section regularly and at first I thought “does this guy get that many new products to sell??” And then I realized he doesn’t bump. Instead it’s a new listing.
