Or just to save them from knowing basic math. 馃槤馃う
True - but then again you could use your 'phone to tell the time and not wear a watch at all....

Or buy him/her a three hander with an easy to read dial, count the pulse for 15 seconds (using the easy to read second hand). Multiply by 4. Voila! Dr's Watch.

Wow it's not subtle! Not a brand I'm familiar with but I'm guessing its German?

Indeed. Based in Frankfurt

They are on the list... also added Oris Flying Doctor range, as well as some mentioned here (apart from the one ConElPueblo has mentioned - if I ever find one of those, I'm keeping it..) . My preference though is to try and find something "vintage"..:

When I was looking for my Chronostop I remember reading lots of user reviews, but the one that stuck was the Paramedic who'd been using his for 20 years at accidents. no bezels or scales to look at , just a stupid simple stopwatch. I particularly like the rounder version made for the italian Market (his)..as opposed to the slimmer standard version...(hers)

1930 Rolex Prince Observatory duo-dial "doctor's" watch. Note the over-sized sub dial with prominent minutes chapter ring. Adjusted to six positions, micrometer regulator, 18-jewels. The only one I have ever seen that is a chronometer version. Gold filled case. I am the second owner. Same movement as used in the Gruen version. Movement by Aegler, I believe.

So - found the first watch (for him) - ended up finding a NOS Tissot TR 516 from the 70s that has both a pulsations scale and a tachymetre scale..

For her, I'm looking a for a black dial Hamilton Seckron or a nice Bulova Surgeon... will post photos and prices in due course...

@khanmu - wish I had friends like you! I'm considering making pulsations chronos the mainstay of my collection. Still considering what my next pulsations will be but here are the two I've got ... both nice options.

Two beautiful watches, love the dial on your Speedie! That's the problem with watch collecting and OF - I had never considered Pulsations until I started looking, now I think I might have to get one too...Gatorcpa, Gemini, ConElPueblo and Gabriel have given me ideas far above my wallet 馃檨
