I’m new to omega vintage but loving it!
I purchased a mystery omega and found out it’s a mariner iii (not working)

Missing a crown and desperately needs a service. any advice on how to source the right part code for this watch crown?
And advice in general regarding restoration.
your collective wisdom is appreciated

If Omega still supplies the crown a watchmaker with an Omega parts account can order it using the reference number on the inside of the caseback (assuming that the current replacement crown is similar to the original one in style which is not always the case). If not you’ll have a hard time finding the crown itself as not many of these models were made and a donor watch is your best bet IMO (and then its a case of how much money it’s worth spending on it).

You are aware that this is a quartz watch, right?

I used to own one with a black dial. I did a thread on it back then: https://omegaforums.net/threads/newest-purchase-peculiar-seamaster-mariner-iii.118169/

thanks. It was partly your thread that convinced me to have a go with this one. I am looking to keep it original as it still has box and papers from purchase (Brisbane ‘85)
Will be a good challenge to source one of those hexagonal type crowns
