Mariner 1 - redial by Omega

I am new to this forum, but I have recently found my self drawn to the 70s aestethics of some of the megaquartz vintage watches. I picked up a mariner 1 fairly cheap as a daily watch. I know that it was serviced by Omega recently, and where the dial was replaced. However, they replaced it with a completely different dial? As this was done by the manifacturer, I found that a bit strange? I have not seen this dial before in any reference litterature. Being a noob, I just wanted to hear if this is common practice and maybe some might have any info in whether this dial has been used officially on different models? Thank you very much

Hello

It's rather weird because the dials with the red patch were seen on earlier models but generally earlier model had applied markers. One possibility is that Omega made service dial adding a logo to the original design.
Nevertheless I dont find your dial ugly or shocking as it fits the 1310 caliber.

More likely serviced by an Omega authorized independent watchmaker. They would have access to Omega parts, but didn’t refurbish the case.

I like the red. The case shows a nice “patina” of living a life. The 70’s were kinda rough from what I read.

Omega will do this as well, if you ask.

Interesting, I bought a very similar Mariner I back in 2009 from Austria (or was it Germany) including the beat-up bracelet and the consensus was that the dial had been swapped by an "amateur"...the Omegamania catalogue did have one like that though.
How do you know it was actually serviced by Omega?

Thank you all for valuable input. Yes, I got confirmation from the AD that this was serviced by Omega and records exists. They replaced the crystal, dial and movement, but left the rest "untouched". I will keep it as an interesting piece and after spending an hour in this forum I discovered that Omega was indeed an interesting brand and I went out and bought a Speedmaster FOIS to keep the Mariner company.
