Making a new Omega Seamaster 200 166.068 insert

I got a request to get a insert for a Omega Seamaster 200 "Banana" back in order.

The bezel with insert looked like this:



The insert was totally missing from 0-20min => easier to just make a new one.

The insert is rather thin, 0.5mm so it is a challange to mill out the numbers/index without creating cracks in the plastic.
Luckily I had just got hold of some 1mm acrylic that is not as hard as the other sheets I had in stock - with some minor setbacks I was finally able to get some inserts milled.

The indexes and numbers are then filled with a mix of paint and lume, when the mix had dried the backside gets a coat of lacquer to keep paint from creeping into the lume, and finally gets painted black and then red.

It's a "simple" font, single stroke, so I taught it would be easy, took abt eight inserts to get tings right! 馃榾

Thank you for sharing. I never knew how this bezels are done. Still learning..
