So, I got my latest acquisition today, a familiar piece from Kyle...

For once, I was home when the postman rang.

    The box...

    Unpacking. Greeted by "ghost turds"...

Stopped for a bowl of ghost turd cereal...

    The prize emerges...

    Annnnnd boom goes the dynamite...

Threw on a generic black strap. A brown gator and a brown ostrich are on their way...

She's terribly sexy in person. Many thanks to Kyle for a beautiful watch from a trusted source!

Dibs is transitive then, is it? Watch should come with a list!

Hmm, are dibs transferrable, or do they do with the sale?
I guess it comes down to whether Kyle told Alex that you had dibs, in which case you could say that the dibs was a condition of the sale. However, if Alex didn't know that, you can't force his hand....

Unless of course you are equating this with Torrens title.....

Well Kyle did tell me that he would tell Alex that I had first dibs since I was next in his list. Otherwise I would have contacted him myself

    See? Told ya so!

Yes, the next in line shoule be transfered with the sale.

BTW, I've shot that up close & personal - another great aging dial.

Kyle mentioned that someone else was on his list, but didn't mention whom. Now I know :)

That being said, this is by far the nicest Omega I own so far, so it is likely to remain in my collection for quite some time.

BTW, the order of operations was:

    1. Offer of sale (no dibs mentioned)
    2. Sale
    3. Receipt
    4. Acknowledgement of receipt, at which point Kyle said some unspecified person was next in line after me.
    5. This thread

I will accept the non-binding judgment of this forum as to how the watch should be disposed of in its next life.

I'm sure there were others in front of the line too, so consider yourself fortunate that the call came to you! ;)

Uh, sort of.... but we did a temporary swap - Kyle sent me his hooded lug Seamaster and I sent him my 168.005 before it was sold. We both wanted to try those case styles out. Turned out I didn't like the way it sat on my wrist as much as I thought, but I knew he wouldn't have any trouble selling it when the time came.

Each watch transaction should come with a "Bill of Dibsing", duly notarized and witnessed.

Good grief! I didn't want to make so much trouble! But it is a stunning watch. I do really like the pebbling of the black dials

Ha. My fault entirely. :) It has been a long couple of days. Sexier pics to come once I get my new straps and the mini tripod for my camera.
