Looking to find unique watches

What I mean by the post is that I am not looking for the usual suspects with unique features e.g. Omega, Rolex etc. I want things I can keep for my lifetime, but are also unique and a bit of conversation piece.

I am looking for the more unique end of the spectrum, things like Warenbach which are affordable but also unique. I've seen a few, but wondered what else might be out there that people have seen. Watches made of submarines, nuclear missile casings and other weird and wonderful things!

    Cheers!

Posted this in unique watches also, but it's less frequented than here, so thought this might get more traffic

I think Sinn watches are made from Uboat steel.
The mondaine stop2go Gotthardo Tunnel commemorative watch has a bezel made from the train door of one of the trains that travelled the old route. Each bezel is unique, dents and scratches from a life of work.

I'd rather see nuclear missiles scrapped and the materials recycled than have them sitting around waiting for some nutter to fire them.

What's your style and budget? Ranging from clean like Junghaus to batshit crazy like any Harry Winston Opus, you have Linde Werdelin, Ressence, Urwerk, Perrelet, Hermes, the newer Bvlgaris, Arnold & Son.....and then independents like Zelos, Sinn, Steinhart, De Buthane,
Parmigiani Fleurier, Frank Muller...list goes on! :p

True to marketing, each will have something or the other which will make them unique either in design, story or materials; just gotta find one that you like. Tell us a little more! :)

Edit: Didn't see that you bought a Zelos, pretty cool! Did you get the ETA 7750 or Seiko VK67 Mechaquartz?

It was close I nearly went for a Warenbach. Maybe next year!!

Once it arrives I'll do a full breakdown. Couldn't help myself and also got the Bronze ceramic Mako with the meteorite face. The guy at Zelos is really good, even knocked off some cash for me! So far so good

What do you consider affordable? If you have the cash, try Czapek where you can semi bespoke your watch.

I certainly like the concept.

I'd be interested to find out what the actual solution to reducing the dial thickness was.

So Elshan replied to me, they attach it to another peice of metal and then grind the back of it. That's all he said, so clearly it's a trade secret!
