v9ZFfye Hello! Im new to this forum. Im 20 years old from Lima, Perú and love watches. I have been looking to get my first omega watch locally and have seen a few options. I would like some help to try and figure out if this omega i was offered is legit.

I'd say you're looking at a pretty nasty looking paint job on that dial. You'll regret buying that watch. When you see a real, untouched, original the difference in quality of the printing of the numbers and dial markers should be night and day.

I say this with the caveat that I am a newbie. Experts with trained eyes will be along shortly with a second opinion.

Thanks, would you happen to know if the movement looks legit?

As pointed out by @Dedalus05 the dial is badly repainted.

Can't tell you much about the movement but I think two screws are missing and that would be a bad sign!

Thanks, seems that all the watches here localy are repainted dials. My other option would be to buy online, could you recommend me a good place to buy that does international shipping and has fair prices?

It’s true that many of the watches we see from Peru, and S America in general, are redials. However I’m sure there are some collectors there with nice watches as well. You may need to be patient and try to create a network so you can meet some of them. Perhaps there is a club or watch group you can join.

Looks like some used a Sharpie to colour the numbers

Frankly, it’s an awful repaint dial. You'd wear it once and hate it forever
