Looking forward to my first Omega (PO 43.5)

Hello all,

New to the Omega forum (but a longtime watch forum guy) and just wanted to drop an introduction post. Finally ready to buy my first Omega and I’ve landed on the Planet Ocean. Initially I was torn between the SMP300 and the PO but the PO has pulled ahead and will be my choice.

I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to researching watches so I’ve been speed consuming Omega specific info all over the web and FB groups. Spent much of last night reading these forums and there is some great information here (kudos to all who have contributed).

I’m a dive watch fanboy and only own 1 watch that does not have a timing bezel.The Planet Ocean will be step up for me as my current “best” diver is a 6 year old Sinn U1 (love that thing). I also have an old bulbous/chunky Oris TT1 small seconds diver that I enjoy and several boutique divers and some Seiko divers (gotta have some Seiko divers around).

I look forward to talking more with everyone and now I’m going back to digging though the forums. I’m solid on my choice for a new 43.5mm PO, now I just have decide if it will be Black or Blue ‍♂️

Any questions you want to ask? (Other than how do I decide between this colour or that!)

I’m always interested in hearing thoughts from any PO owners. Reading the old/current discussions has really answered a lot of my questions. I do have vendor/seller questions but I will ask those directly. Just wanted to say hello to the community.

If weight is an issue, you might think about a titanium one, its a lot lighter

That looks really good. I actually enjoy a little weight and have a couple of divers heavier than the PO stainless steel version.
