I have been looking at Engine Turned Bezel Rolex for quite some time now, I have always loved how they looked.
It is not always easy to find reliable information about the different models and their features.
I hope you can help me find the right watch for me .

What I am looking for:
- Engine Turned Bezel
- Silver Dial
- Date (not 100% mandatory)

I am looking forward to your wisdom to help me pick my watch wisely.
I am attracted by vintage watches but I also reckon the benefits of newer watches in terms of maintenance, reliability, etc.

At the moment, I think there are 4 different models that match what I am looking for.

Oyster perpetual 15210 or 15010? Not sure what are the differences between the 2 references?



I think it is the Air King 14010. Looks really nice but without the date.


The Air King 114210: a more recent version with this bezel.
Modern look, new bracelet which is nice but I am not sure with the 3/6/9 and the thicker case? Any opinions?


The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 115210, which looks like the more recent watch with this bezel.
It's difficult to find information about this one. Looks like it was not produced a lot nor during a long period of time.
The case is different as well.

I saw this watch and it was an instant love affair. 34mm of perfection... 15210 iirc

 

What about a Rolex Thundebird? Very similar look on the vintage ones. Super under valued.

What a beauty, What year is it? Is it still reliable?
I have a hard time deciding between vintage and modern on this one as this is a watch I want to wear on a daily basis.

Looks nice indeed but I dont like the bezel as much as the other one, thanks.

Any recommendations regarding the different references available?
At the moment, I really like the 15210.
Is it a good choice for daily wear or should I go for a more recent watch like the 115210? I am not sure about the case though.

Iirc it's 25 it 26 years old but could pass as NOS. 100% reliable, runs about +5/day ... it's one of those pieces I chose more frequently in my mornings than I thought I'd do.

Slips nicely under formal sleeves and flies under any radar. Best used on bracelet, as those smaller watches tend to get overpowered by stark leather straps.

Nice looking watch! I think I will still go for the 15210, more recent and maybe more reliable.
