Looking for Second Opinion

Hello

I am about to pull the trigger on this Rolex Oysterdate Precision. Have done my due diligence on the authenticity of the watch. In my limited knowledge, it is 100% real with original untouched dial. I would like to ask for a second opinion if there are any indicators that this is a fake or a redial. Asking price is USD 1,800. Thank you.

greetings and cool you're interested in the classic 6694 rolex model. dial-wise you're ok but unfortunately the watch is not 100% real since that bracelet is a cheap fake.

What gives it away as fake?
I see the end links are unusual (to say the least) and without reference numbers.

take a closer look at the connector where the bracelet hooks on to the spring bar and head link, and the back side of those associated bracelet links.

Thanks for the reply. I get it - the end links does not integrate well with the lugs. If the bracelet is fake, and the watch head is real, what would be a good price for this? Also, is the bracelet clasp original?

integrate well isn't the issue. the head links and associated bracelet links are cheap fakes.

you might want to be careful if the seller is presenting this watch as what you initially referred to as "100% real". so...proceed with caution when trying to assess a value to the remaining watch head as repair and service of the movement will set you back. bracelet-clasp-wise is the least of your concerns. I suggest keep looking around online for similar 6694 models for sale. the rolex forum (TRF) would be a good place to start as sellers there are fairly well monitored.

@janice&fred is correct, there is nothing correct about the bracelet or clasp. Completely fake. Links are wrong, coronet is wrong, etc.

The watch itself appears to be legit based on the limited photos, but in very worn condition. Not only is the case very beat up (which isn't the end of the world), but the hands also appear to have scratches on them, which is a bit unusual. Overall, I would say that this example is in below average condition, which should be reflected in the price. It's not hard to research prices on these, so I'll leave that to the OP.

At $1800 with a fake bracelet that would be a pass for me. And if the bracelet wasn’t noted as fake or aftermarket, another reason for the pass. Seller might now be aware, could be an honest mistake but would make me wonder what else has been missed...

Thanks a lot for the info guys! I'll ask for around $1,500, let's see if seller agrees.

Much better watches out there for $1500..

I wouldn’t be so keen to offer anything.

I was just about to reply with basically the same message.

Why is that? Isn't market price for this model around 2k USD? I was thinking of buying separately an original bracelet. I've seen one before at around 200 USD

Read the above responses again. Sure, market price for a 6694 is around 2k - in good condition. This watch is not in good condition. You asked for a second opinion. You’ve received several of them. If you’d still like to purchase it, pay the price you’re comfortable with and enjoy.

Unfortunately you can't buy much of a Rolex in a nowadays for $ 1500. that black dial is rarer.

Do you have pics of the Ref and SN (between the lugs)? I'd like to see those, as well as some clearly focused shots of the dial and case from different angles. But just going by the images you've posted I would consider this a "head-only" purchase and if you can pick it up for $1500 I say go for it. The handset doesn't look scratched to me, rather it shows what I think is minor corrosion which is not unusual for a Rolex dress watch of this age.
