Hi y'all. Greetings from Texas. I'm looking to purchase my first Speedmaster and wanted a little advice. I looked on Chrono24 and saw lots of watches within my 3-4K budget. Is Chrono24 a good place to buy or would y'all suggest something else. Don't really want anything too new. Just looking for a nice piece with a little character. Thanks in advance for any advice provided.

 

I would keep an eye out in the sales forums here. You should be able to find what you are looking for from trusted sellers.

 

Had good luck with a couple of international Chrono24 sales, but be advised there can be added costs. If you’re in Texas and buying from one of the many European dealers factor in shipping costs (quite high), US customs duties, PayPal fees, etc. it can add up.

Chrono can be a minefield. Are you looking new? Lightly pre owned or older like a birthyear?

 

I personally recommend the forums. Just keep checking Watchrecon and you should see plenty come up for sale.

No negative experience with Chrono24, however it does seem that the few times I've used it in a search for a particular piece the prices seemed a little higher than what I see on the forums.

 

I would prefer lightly pre-owned. Don't really care about year.

 

Are you looking for a 861, 1861 etc... Or doesn't the movement/dial type really matter?
