Looking for Help! 18k Omega seamaster

This watch is 18k gold and was past down to me by my great uncle. I have yet to see anything like it while doing research on my own. I took it to an Omega Store and they think it might be rare but they couldn't help me fully. Trying to find some answers and see if it is truly something special. Any help would be great!

Unfortunately, it looks like it is a counterfeit Seamaster, but wait for others to weigh in.

A fake Omega in a fake 18kt case I'm afraid. There's nothing genuine about this one.

A counterfeit 18k watch ?!

Just because it says "18K 750" on the back doesn't mean that it is 18k gold. Additionally, those markings would belong on the inner caseback and I've never seen them on the outside of the caseback, except on fakes. There may be exceptions, but I don't think this is one of them.

Additionally, there are plenty of solid gold fakes. However, this mostly applies to counterfeits of certain Rolex models.

Thank you guys for your posts! I did get the watch gold tested at the jewelry store and it is real gold...the jewelry guy wanted to give me 4k for the watch but it's a family watch and means alot to me whether its fake or not. Thank you all!

Take the £4K. Its probably plated but what is certain is that it wasn't made by Omega.

Fake.
In the 70s in Italy these watches (mainly for ladies) were sold in the service areas of the motorways.
In fact they were called "highway-fakes"

It’s not real gold, these are really well known counterfeits that turn up all the time, old counterfeits but counterfeits none the less. Not sure what you mean by got it gold tested but it can’t be more than looking at the caseback as it definitely is not real gold.

Interesting that an Omega Dealer didn't realize this was an obvious fake.

This is getting stranger and stranger... allegedly a fake 18k watch with a fake stamp (just as bad as counterfeit money...), a jeweler who allegedly can't spot fake gold and offers 4k, an Omega boutique that allegedly can't spot fake gold, identical watches that allegedly turn up all the time...but where?

Nothing really "stranger and stranger" about it.

The watch is a well recognised fake/counterfeit produced in large numbers in the 1950s/1960s.
While this particular design may not turn up all the time, it bears all the hallmarks (double entendre there for you) that indicate that this watch never in its life, passed through the doors of any Omega factory.

If @MR.BLIMBY needs any further confirmation all he has to do is pop the caseback off with a cheese knife.
This is easy to do and even if badly performed, it will not devalue the watch in any way.

Then he will be able to show us all a photograph of the movement which will settle for once and for all, the "allegedly" aspects.

Frankly I smell bullshit. I think I see wear at the end of the bracelet where the plate is going, I think we have a new poster who wants to ether snare a buyer or establish some kind of bonafides on a questionable piece. Pop the back and show us an Omega movement, genuine internal hallmarks and a case number and I will humbly apologise. I will also be astounded.

Personally I think we may have a part time car-boot trader who's bought a cardboard box full of 'genuine Swiss watches' on the cheap and is hoping to have scored lucky with one of them

This is the second time in recent history that I can remember where a new member has signed up with that exact story. I hope I am wrong, but to me it looks like someone is putting out bait for in the wrong waters.

He did the same thing on the WUS vintage forum and his thread was shut down.
