I was getting ready to send 5 vintage watches to England to have them restored when I was told they no longer accept out of country customers. Does anyone know of a competent watch case lapping specialist who will take orders from US customers?

    Thank you!

Nesbit's has been mentioned here before, they are located in Seattle. I have not personally used them so maybe someone who has can comment on their process and the results as compared to the fantastic stuff that STS is able to do.

OK, "SEARCH" won't work...so I have to ask...
Who, what, when, or where is STS?
(It is the acronym formerly associated with Space Transportation System (STS) a.k.a. "Space Shuttle")
But you all use it as if it is a company or service.

it is Omega's authorized vintage service center located in Essex, and they also find and restore old omegas and offer them for sale. So you can search their site for speedmasters, sea masters....

Thanks everyone. I hadn't realized I had any responses. I've heard STS is good but no less expensive than Omega. I'll check out Nesbit's.

Complete Speedmaster service and case and bracelet restoration is $710 at Nesbit's. They will restore the factory finish to the case and bracelet or they will leave it as is, up to you.

If it is a Speedmaster with a 321 movement, Nesbit's charges $1125. Maybe $710 is for all other movements. Just picked up my -67 today and they did an excellent job.

Yes, the $710 quote is for an 861 movement. I should have been more specific.

Case lapping? I'm sure if you smeared gravy on your watch one of my family's dogs would lap it to death.

ABC Watchwerks in LA is great. Did a hell of a job on my 105.012 case, brought it back from the dead.

Just recieved a quote of $925 for cal. 1045 service with case refinishing for a watch on strap, or $960 with bracelet. They have to do a movement service if you want the case refinished, and won't install any customer supplied parts such as an original NOS Omega dial I have, which Omega no longer makes for my Omega.

Go to ABC...will install parts and do case work without a service. Call Edvi, he is a great guy and super helpful.
