I've been thinking of picking up a pocket watch, just for the off occasion that I might use it.
Been looking around on the Private Sales in the forum, but doesn't seem to be that many listings of Omega pocket watches

I've read around that they're not exactly rare, and have seen some threads where it mentions they go for around/below $500. Where do I look for them? eBay?

I'm not at all familiar with the old pocket watches, are majority of those on eBay redialed/frankens?
For e.g. these three. They look pretty good to me but I have no idea.

Ebay is indeed a good solution.
Don't buy the first one : cracked dial and low quality movement (7 jewels).
    The others are ok.

If you like pocket watches you can have a look at my website (no omega for sale now unfortunately) : http://www.thepocketwatchspecialist.com

Look for something closer to modern. Better movements, slimmer and smaller than the older designs. Maybe 1940's and up

Can Google Omega 1940's pocket watch to search.

One important thing about the "modern" PWs is that most of them will have a shock protected balance, so checking movement shots to see if this is fitted is part of the hunt.

The caliber 601 from Omega has shock protection and is a very well regarded movement (Don's first pic). The other two probably don't have it and there is a greater risk of damaging the balance if you drop it while flipping it from your fob pocket.

Omega 601 with shock protected balance wheel (the gold clip spring holding the cap jewel).

The Lepine's from the 1930-40'ies are smaller and thinner, i collect them, here are some inspiration

Or some newer from the 1950-60'ies

Very nice Thomas. And nicely presented.

Of your six images, leaving aside the last (too new for me), I think these are all calibre 38.5. A very successful movement produced from 1932 for over 30 years.

In the first image, these three are ref. CK374 (Yann has written about this before, with different dial and hands it was the Quarantenaire from 1934). https://omegaforums.net/threads/ano...ire-and-a-question-on-caliber-markings.27740/

In your second image, the first three are joined (top left) by a CK1021.

In your third image, these two are CK1064 (Omega’s first water-resistant watch, dating from 1937).

In your fourth image, I think these three are all (different) CK374 again.

In the ‘family group’ there are three additional watches in the middle of the back row (harder to identify).
    Very nice! Tom

Wow you are very informative, being able to identify all those watches at a glance.

I looked up some of the 38.5 Calibre watches and found this:

    Any opinions?
