Yes, i have receipts and related documentation, thanks

Do you have the original "moon surface" box? Just FYI they are worth quite a bit of money, as they are far rarer than the watches at this point.

@Tim Crosbie I would contact Omega and ask them to look up the movement serial number that matches #357. That way you would have two pieces of information to help you in your search.

Also, dont be put off by the rowdiness in this forum. It's all in good fun and I guarantee you everyone here would be very happy if you are re-united with this watch.

Yeah, I’m sure someone somewhere is missing their Daytona, so good on you!

Hi Tim

What part of Newfoundland did it go missing if St. John’s or Corner Brook you should contact RNC (Royal Newfoundland Constabulary). If else where contact RCMP.

Newfoundland is pretty small, make a post buying Omega Speedmaster on the local pages like nlclassifieds.com and kijiji. My doubts is you won’t find it but worth a shot. Don’t say stolen in the listing... you won’t find it for sure then.

Also I’m from Newfoundland so if you manage to find it still here in Newfoundland and need someone to look at it feel free to msg me.

Cheers
Chad
Thanks Chad, I have been speaking with them. There was a police report made when the watch has been stolen. Thanks for the advice.

Thanks tim

1969 would make the model a BA145.022-69 @Tim Crosbie - might be worth hunting down any models with this reference that you can on the internet, and checking the LE number.

They didn't make all that many, so 27 years down the line it's either out there somewhere, or was melted down for its value as scrap gold.
Thanks for this. Tim

A little harsh.
Tim asked a general question which he may have posted on other boards hoping for a lead. I'm sure he would check back from time to time hoping for some small assistance.

Tim . If you can dig up any thing unique about this particular watch such as a presentation engraving etc that would help.

High end watches when stolen sometimes end up in the personal stash of drug dealers, for obvious reasons.

Did the watch just go missing or was it part of a burglary haul or mugging incident ?

If you have any relatives with sticky fingers, pillheads etc, that's where I'd look first.

1991 is certainly a long time ago, but the watch may still show up.
The watch was stolen out of my home late at night with my wallet and wife’s purse. Thanks

This watch was owned by my father and stolen in 1991. I have been looking for this watch over the years. Stolen in Newfoundland Canada. Looking for information leading to its recovery. If you have information to assist in this search please let me know.

I am confused 🍿

The watch used to belong to OP's father, who either died before 1991 and left him the watch, or was in his house on the night it was stolen along with etc, etc. What's confusing about that?

At first he said it was stolen from his father in 1991, then he said it was stolen along with his wife’s purse and other things which make it sound present tense...I’m not the only one confused by this. Not to mention this is 28 years after the theft.

Was their an insurance payout for the watch?

I do not see anything wrong with someone outside of the watch collector world finding OF and asking a question like this. Totally understand the 'this is a community, contribute' mindset but at times it would be nice to jump off that horse and help 'civilians' who stop by.

But then again I can't even post in the sales forum yet 📖

Totally agreed, and most of us are happy to help the 1- time poster asking about his grandfather’s watch. The dialogue above just seems to waffle a bit, not sure if it’s a translation issue or what but I think some of us just want some clarification if for no other reason to follow the story.
