Those hands are screaming quartz.

Since this example has an American-made case, it would not have a Longines reference number associated with it. There may be a model name in an American catalog or advertisement, but most collectors today would refer to the watch by its caliber. If I had to guess, I would say that the caliber is probably a 23Z. See a similar example below.

Perfect! TY! This is exactly this info I was looking for. I kind of suspected this but wanted to confirm since not my area of expertise.

It looks like a front loader which would be odd for a quartz.

But why do the hands look so cheaply made. They are basic stamped steel with no detailing.

In person the three dimensionality of the hand “stem” is much more apparent (I’ve owned similar from Longines).
