Hello everyone!

I am the new proud owner of this absolutely beautiful Longines.

GgaU95R.jpg

It is my first Longines and my first watch with a power reserve complication and I am certainly now under the spell of this brand! Whilst complex in design, it's balanced in a way that retains the elegance of the conquest line that we all enjoy, whilst adding the power reserve complication and what a real treat it is to experience. I never usually like dates, but the designers of this watch really understood what they were doing and created a coherent design that retains symmetry. Too often do date complications appear like an after thought, but not on this watch. It has quickly earned the position of my favourite dress watch within my collection.

I was also lucky that the seller had a time correct box for this watch, but I was wondering, how exactly are the watches meant to sit within this particular box.

As you can see in the pictures, when the watch is laid on top, it extends beyond the width of the box, clearly the strap is not original - this is from my collection. But all of my straps appear to be of similar length and fit the same. Should the watch be folded in half perhaps - this would seem strange as then half the box would remain empty and what are the little velvet bands either side - I take it the watch threads behind these? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps it is just not the right box for this watch, BUT I can't find any of my watches that would fit within it longways so I'm really not sure! haha

Also whilst I am here, I am looking for a stainless steel Longines buckle if anyone knows what one would be correct for this watch and where I could perhaps find one!

Thank you all and take care 馃榾

Ollie

Can鈥檛 help you with the box, but congratulations on the PwR. The railroad track dials are really something in person.

That's a great reference. 馃憤

The way each of the facets of this watch catch the light is breath taking, it's funny how quite often light and how it plays with a dial is the make or break of a good watch rather than just the materials it is made from.

It's my favourite Longines out there apart from the 30CH which is the next one on my list 馃槣

It took me 2 years to find one, during that time 4 or so came and went but this was by far the best condition example of the bunch 馃榾 and I'm very happy indeed!

Perhaps a buckle like this, not sure. Others may know the correct one.

Okay good start - I wonder if anyone here has any conquests of any model with the original buckles? 馃榾

Yes - although I understand these bracelets are incredibly rare and when they do come around cost an arm and a leg! haha 馃槣

Just needs a bit of patience. 馃槈

I love the second one each of you both have! How much would one of these set me back? 馃榾

Congratulations! Nice example. Is the crown signed?
This is not my photo, but from a collector named 'stoph who I communicated with some time ago. This is the box that came with his 294. You can even see the original tag stamped 294. His 294 is the same model as yours, with the non-medallion back. So I would think this is what the correct box looks like; though as with all things vintage, it is always possible that they were sold with other boxes.

Perfect - Saved that to my files. Thank you for that! I've seen this same box in red, but not green before. Interesting! 馃榾

Haha I think that鈥檚 the price of the watch, not the bracelet - I wish I had only paid that for the watch
