Beautiful model, but they have become very expensive. That's not to say that they aren't worth what they are fetching relative to many other watches on the market – they most certainly are. And they are likely to appreciate further. But be prepared – especially through a high-end dealer like Bain – to spend several thousand dollars.

Oh, and your wife has excellent taste!

She should fancy that - it's a very nice caiber 19ASD specimen. I even have it bookmarked. If that were allowed to run it's course in an open auction on eBay it would fetch $2500 or more in my estimation. Seeing who's selling it, I can guarantee the asking price is at least a few hundred more so don't be shocked if you contact him and here a number north of $3,000.

Way north of $3K. My guess is he'll ask more like $5K. The watch does look to be in impeccable condition.

He may ultimately take less than that.

At 30 years old and straddled with a 9 month old she's finally committed to getting a DL and buying a car. I'm pushing the watch! She wants a nice compact like a Mazda 3 or Cruz. Any suggestions?

Friend, you mean "saddled" with a nine month old. Straddling is how you end up with a nine month old. :0
Now there's a Freudian slip... maybe it's time to talk about your needs, brother.

    Man, sorry, couldn't resist. ;)

If she goes for the Longines and the $1.00 F-250, she might be the perfect woman.
