Spotting redials becomes second nature- like driving a manual transmission- you just know how to do it after a while. It’s all in the details. That said, when you get into Omega (note I said when, not if), there are variations and different details for different periods so know the details but understand the variances. Very often you will see a thread here where 10 people say redial and one of the veterans will pop in with 5 examples from their own collection that are identical.

Great points, points I was actually thinking of yesterday. When for instance a dial can sometimes be interpreted as re-touched but is surprisingly original.
My very first Omega is a vintage - I lucked out in terms finding an authentic piece - one with no re-dialing ;-)

Correction it was $375 - worth it?
Absolutely not. I would say it’s worth at most about 100 dollars and I agree with @Dan S you should return it.
You can wear and enjoy that nice Omega Geneve for the time being— and next time you should post inquiries before you make the purchase.

Great News - I got my hard earned money back and it's all thanks to the expertise of Omega Forums members. I looked at this as a great learning experience - discovering ways to identify redials. Thank you all that participated. With gratitude thanks to : @Syrte, @SportChief, @janice&fred, @rondeaux, @killer67, @Dan S, @DirtyDozen12, @JwRosenthal, and last but not least @Foo2rama.

Gentlemen, I owe you guys a drink.

Cheers
Glad you were able to dodge the noob tax, some of us weren’t as lucky. Enjoy the hunt and keep being engaged at learning. I learn something here every day- particularly about cats!

Aye, Aye. In this case I was OK because of the return policy, otherwise I might have been stuck with a semi-shitter.
The experience alone was worth it.
I am sure I was not the first nor the last.

P.S.
Il n'y a pas un chat.
