Embarrassing, just embarrassing. After having been in contact with Wesselink by email (sent them pictures and told them I could not set the date); they referred me to the Swatch Group here in Netherlands. After having been in contact with them they redirected me to their office in Brussels - they told me the spare parts were out of date, and I would have to had it sent to Switzerland for "restoration". It was not an option because the price would exceed the watches value. In a very last effort, I contacted another local watchmaker who redirected me to another watchmaker. After a phone conversation, the watchmaker offered to come by my place and take a look at the watch. I learned that the date could only be set by winding the hours between certain points; the watch indeed works fine.... We agreed to have it serviced.
Any follow up on this, did you get it serviced?

wow 😁

Maybe you could point me to that watchmaker as well if you want, really looking for a vintage Longines service guy in NL 😀
W&V are not that fond to do really old stuff.... Mine was done somewhere else (after consultation with W&V).

Watch was serviced last Summer. I unfortunately haven't given it the wrist time it deserves. The watch is 40mm, and to my surprise, it appears too bulky on my wrist. So I have put it on sale and I am currently looking for a 37-38 mm watch.
