Evening all, can anybody work out the rough age/cal of this Longines auto ultra chron? I don’t have the specific tool needed to get the back off. TIA.
Caliber is a 431, from the late 60’s or early 70’s. http://www.ranfft.de/cgi-bin/bidfun-db.cgi?10&ranfft&&2uswk&Longines_431
Going by dial and fonts, early 70s See here https://omegaforums.net/threads/longines-vintage-catalogs.19824/
I would like to get access to the movement so that I know exactly what I've got. I think this may be a front loader, but not sure. Is anybody able to tell from the photos provided?
you get into this watch by removing the crown first . There is a special way to remove the crown then lift the watch movement from the case
Once you do, you can email Longines’s heritage department and they’ll send you a summary of when the watch was produced and where it was delivered to, free of charge.
