Hi Guys,

I just grabbed this Jumbo last week. I didn’t hesitate for a minute.

It has a 30L movement and 12,2M serial which dates it back to 1964. I’m surprised how big it wears. Loads of wrist presence.

I wonder what’s that dial called? Plays amazing with the light on.
Any additional info on the watch would be appreciated too. ref. 71651

I red somewehere on the difference between 30L and 30L chronometer movement, but can't figure out which one is mine. I sent a request to Longines, hope they'll send me some info.

It looks like an ordinary 30L to me. The chronometer-grade movements have a squared-off stud carrier and regulator tail. Moreover, the chronometer-grade 30L movements are uncommon, and would generally be found in a watch marked chronometer/chronometre on the dial.

Here is a good thread to read: https://omegaforums.net/threads/longines-30l-variations.95910/

It turns out that chronometer-grade caliber 30L movements came with or without Breguet overcoil hairsprings. Still, I imagine that a small proportion of 30L movements with flat hairsprings are chronometer-grade, whereas a moderate-to-large proportion of 30L movements with Breguet overcoil harisprings are probably chronometer-grade. I wonder if @Rumar89 would agree?

Yes, exactly. If the dial isn't marked "chronometer" and the movement has a flat hairspring, there's absolutely no reason to suspect that it is a chronometer-grade movement.

Absolutely agree. Flat hairspring chronometers are much less common. The majority that I’ve seen come from the UK market.
