My first Longines arrived today. It needs a new crystal & service, & there are marks on the caseback from a natostrap. But the case & dial are otherwise in excellent condition, & the movt. looks nice & shiney. The crown looks original.

It was a bit of an ebay risk, with no movt pics. The watch was not well described, & there wasn't much interest.
I particularly wanted the cal 6942 with its hacking feature, & I thought this was my chance to bag a bargain. I decided with a good case & dial, I could take a risk on the rest.

I have found it hard to get a market value on these. Evidence of past sales on the internet is slim. Ebay offerred up 2 examples from Peru with molested cases for under $300, but I don't think this is a good guide.
Off to the watchmaker for a service, as it is sluggish & stuttering.
Guidance as to value would be appreciated.

A similar watch in messed up condition went for GBP 188.
