    I don't understand this, just not part of my culture I guess.
    I would never think about selling a gift.
    Or even a watch that someone allowed me to buy from them as a favor.

    My recommendation is to keep it because someone gave it to you hoping it would make you happy.

    I hear you, you bring up a good point.
    I'm just looking to save up for a Speedy and trying to find ways to finance it.
    Know that the individual who gifted this to me would be happy if I was able to use it for something that made me happy.

    Miss Manners does not approve. Unless you discuss this fully with the giver and agree on a path forward, selling this would leave bad karma. That said I have learned NEVER to buy jewelry for the wife without her consultation.
