Original untouched speedmasters are always the best. But if you were to choose between a 2998-1 lollipop chrono with tachymetre 500 and a 2998-1 straight chrono with base 1000 which one would you choose?? Of course other factors remain the same.
Firstly, I believe the lollipop was a more prevalent option on the 2998-2 and 2998-3. IMHO, As the black base 1000 bezel was standard issue on the 2998-1 and 2998-2, the proper correct bezel is more important, and more valuable, to collectors.
Although I agree with Mark: I'd die for an original lollipop 2998-2 or 2998-3. Just my personal desire
I personally thought most members would choose the lollipop since its a more visual distictive feature compared to the base 1000. Lollipops are so tasty!!
This does not make much sense... a lollipop is an option but a base 1000 bezel is a must on 2998-1 and -2
And the same also for the 2913 SM300s - choice between lollipop and original bezel is a no-brainer since the bezel is a necessity for originality.
Pulsation, telemeter and decimal bezels were also an option in the 60's. The base 1000 was the standard but i guess the customers could have swaped the bezel upon request at the shop.
