Was watching this one with interest (I don't have this sort of money, so no bidding here).

No movement pictures available, incorrect crown, home made "engraving" on the case back.

With the 15% buyers premium this seems a little on the high end... or an I just behind the times?! :)

Not an unreasonable price - if it is a 2914-1 it is a bargain.

    Price doesn't seem overly ridiculous.

Must say, that nail colour doesn't suit you at all though.

Ok, I admit it, this thread wasn't about the watch at all, I just wanted to show off my newly painted nails.

I put all this effort in and no one appreciates me. *slams door, exits stage right*

    ;)

I was watching that too, I do think they put daft valuations on to attract buyers sometimes. I live near Arthur Johnsons in Nottingham and each year I attend their annual watch sale. Last year they valued a 105.003 for half that of a 145.022, I know they did it just to peak interest

Whatever the reason I think this practice is simply dishonest - you pay these places money for their expertise and they jerk you around with their valuations? This is professional malpractice if you ask me.

even at ten times those valuations it would have piqued plenty of interests

The had it up on Live Auction too... so I was listening to the audio.

He started with "Unsurprisingly we've had a lot of interest."

The bid started at £3k - lots of internet and a couple of phone bids, but finally sold in the room.

+15% and converted to USD that's 9,880. Not sure if that still qualifies as a bargain

The "unique" and "historically significant" dedication was the prime catalyst*.

*Please note that I was quoting myself above.

IMO a good buy. It will renovate nicely. 2914-1 it looks like. Nice dial
