Got my watch about a month ago. While cleaning my watch today with a microfiber cloth, I noticed that there’s a small lint on the 8:00 position. Is this something that has to go to a service center for? Or can this be handled at my local omega boutique? Thanks!

Haha I suppose I can live with it. I’ll probably eventually forget about it. I’m not sure if it’s somehow new knowing the watch is sealed because in my other pictures of the watch, I can’t see the dust.

Just worried about the possibility of it affecting the movement?

Your eyes are better then mine. Never look at your own watch with a loupe.

Haha I didn’t use one, I guess I was looking at it at just the right angle under a normal room lamp.

But bottom line, this wouldn’t affect the movement in any way?

    Thanks!

Could that be a scratch on the AR coating or can you see it clearly inside?

One of the first things I learned when I got into watches was to stop being so OCD and perfectionist about many things, it had a positive effect on my personality honestly. Getting into vintage watches made the learning easier. Put differently it means I think that if you're too perfectionist, well.. it's gonna be tough getting into vintage watches.

When I was first looking to get a loupe my watchmaker said 'no, I won't sell you any, you're gonna go mad and ask me to take out microscopic dust particles'. Now he doesn't mind.

Ultimately went to omega service center today in Los Angeles, was in and out in about 15 minutes!
