The linen dial on this is in very nice condition but a linen bezel??? Has anyone seen anything like this before? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Ome...229749342?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item3f268d885ePurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Yes, I have seen this pattern frequently on different brands, Omega and Patek for example... Maybe done for special order of the client...
It looks like one of the tri-colour bezels (rose gold, yellow gold and white gold). I think Norm may have had one?
The bezel pattern is florentine. It was popular in the late 50's and 60's. Got a '66 Longines with it: Couldn't tell you for sure if the bezel on your Omega was factory, a Norman Morris addition, or aftermarket though.
A Norman Morris creation (US market), here is the ref L6300 with the cal 550. Not that uncommon, but since it is a US market piece and the cases are gold-filled NICE ones don't show up that often. Several different dials were available.
Thanks for the info guys. It was late here when I posted this and I sent the seller a message asking if she would ship it international. Woke up this morning and it is gone
i offered him $ 480, which he accepted late last night ( timediff. to Oz). and this morning he rejected it and it`s gone. no big deal; so it went between 480 and 580...... around $ 500 seems a good price to me; was not prepared, to pay more for a GF seamaster. kind regards. achim
